Rewind is the second episode of the first season of Runaways and the second episode of the series overall.[1]

Synopsis

A retelling of 101, as seen from the parents' perspective. Everyone's on edge, but after tonight, should all go as planned, they won't have to worry about their obligations again.[2]

Plot

SPOILER ALERT

A flash of light brightens the darkened chamber of where PRIDE conducts their ceremony. Geoffrey turns to his wife, Catherine, and the other parents. He wonders what it was. Meanwhile, Alex, Chase, Gert, Molly, Nico and Karolina sprints down the corridor back up the steps where where they originally descend from Geoffrey's study. As they run, Alex yells for them to hurry. Nico wonders what if they hadn't seen them, but regardless, they saw something. Gert verbally blames Molly, and she, again, apologies to the group.

Back in the inner chamber, Geoffrey turns to Catherine. Leslie acknowledges what they all saw - there was a flash of light. Tina rationalizes that it could have been a reflection from the Staff's sound barrier. Catherine disrobes, as she mulls over what just happened. They've taken every precaution - always - and there's no reason to believe differently now. Geoffrey reassures her. It's going to be fine.

As Alex approaches the tops of the stairs the bookshelf door has closed behind them, immediately wondering who among them closed it. In the darkened stairwell, Karolina wonders if they're trapped. The door is shut tightly or it's locked. Chase is determined to add 'muscle' with his upper body strength to open the door - but like Alex, his efforts are wasted and the door won't budge. Alex instructs them all to push together, though Molly hears footsteps. With her eyes glowing and her strength unbounded, she effortlessly pushes the door, and the others, open. They run through Geoffrey's study and through the courtyard. Alex has an idea and tells them to get into the guest house. They do as they're instructed.

Catherine and Geoffrey are right on their trails and they make there way up through the steps and into the study. The kids are already in the guest house. Karolina offers an idea what could have taken place. She's sure that it must have been some kind of Gibborim ceremony for a higher level than herself. The girl, Destiny, she's in the church and that's the only things that makes sense. Gert's in complete disagreement, in fact her suggestion makes no sense, as with her parents, they're Jewish and not Gibborium practitioners. She attempts to rationalize it another way. Dale and Stacey are scientists and she proposes that they could have been doing some cool experiment that involved stuffing a human in a box. Keeping with the theme of science, Chase believes that the 'box' looked like a transporter of sorts, that his dad is obsessed with time travel and he could have perhaps finally figured it out. Gert insults his thought. Molly though yawns, as with before, using her new-found super strenght greatly tires her out. Molly's yawn, however, doesn't escape Gert's attention and she chastises her, wondering if they're collectively boring her. Nico calls back their attention with a more startling theory - whatever happened, she believes that their parents just killed that girl. Ominously, the lights at the Wilder Residence abruptly go out.

Earlier That Day

Geoffrey waves Alex off as he leaves for school. Catherine worries over Alex. What happened to Amy Minoru was an unthinkable tragedy but it can't be the thing that defines the rest of his life. Geoffrey approaches her and reassures her though - Alex is a "Wilder." He's strong and smart and, like himself, Wilders don't let their past define their future. Catherine taught him that. She smiles and they briefly kiss. She remember when she taught him that, he was in jail and, as a result, she has some cred. Geoffrey however knows better than to mess with her. She agrees and asks for his help in her preparations from the PRIDE meeting. She'll be in court all afternoon and everyone will be on time.

Following an unsettling breakfast at the Stein Residence, Chase packs for school. He's happy that it'll all be over soon and that in another year, he'll be off to college, and he'll never have to see his father's smug "dickface" again. Janet listens but reminds him that he's his father, but Chase is still angry. Admittedly, Victor slammed a fork into the table that morning instead of his head. He calls that 'progress'. Janet, apologetically, admits that he hasn't laid a finger on him in a while now. Chase is sure that even if he had tried, Victor knows that he'd lose in a fight. Janet continues to defend her husband, that knowing he's difficult, that's the price of having a mind such as his. Chase loves his mother, but he tells her that his dad is a "first-class, grade-A, platinum-card-carrying A-hole". Janet's phone ring. Chase inquire about who's calling her, thinking that Victor didn't let her have friends. Without waiting for a response, he smiles and turns to grab his coat and leaves. Janet picks up the call and scoff, telling the person on the other end that she's supposed to call, not the other way around. She tells the person that she can't wait to see them tonight at the PRIDE meeting, despite having her husband there too.

Victor is busy working in his lab. He has his equipment open and he grabs a mouse and places it in the box and closes it. The machine begins to light up and the lights flicker. The box is still malfunctioning. He picks up the mouse, wondering why he was still here. Victor however, nearly doubles over, clutching his head as a high pitched whir debilitates him and he drops the mouse.. Janet walks in, seeing him in pain and questions if it's his headaches again. He ignore this, citing that it's the box that has the issues. It's having demataerialization problems. Janet questions if he'll figure it out, that the PRIDE meeting is tonight as she finds and picks up the esacped mouse. She asks him if, maybe, he could reach out to someone? A fresh perspective might be good and it's okay to ask for help. Victor scoffs at the though. Help? He looms over her, as she's crouched on the floor holding the mouse. He rhetorically questions if that's a joke and asks just who could possibly be able to help him? Victor stills himself and apologies. He's under a tremendous amount of pressure, though that's not an excuse. He tells her to get rid of the mouse, that it's useless.

At the Church of Gibborim, Karoline talks to Leslie. She tells her that she has a lot going on, too, not that she would even notice. Fed up, Karolina leaves. Letting her go, Leslie's confronted by Frances and Aura - they have a problem. It's Destiny Gonzalez. She wasn't in chapel today, and she isn't in her room. They need to find her and now. As Karolina makes her way from the church, Frank calls her attention. She tells her to say hi to Phil, his agent. Karolina keeps walking, but throws up a hand and wave, and offers a "hey". Phil returns the gesture. It's been a mintue since they've last gotten together and spoke. Phil attempts to be direct, wondering if there's a more private place they can have their conversation. Frank however quotes from Leslie's sermon - that "secrets only live in shadows. And there are no shadows in the light." They sit in ackward silence so Frank wonder what's going on. He assumes that, fFor him to drive all this way, it must be big news. Jumping the gun, Frank immediately tells him that his answer is "yes". He is ready to do TV. Phil cuts to the chase and tells him that he's there in person to let him go. Frank is confused. He was one of his first clients, that he can't fire him - he's the agent and it's the other way around. He's the one that's supposed to fire him. Phil admits that works, too, and that they've had a good run. There was a moment there where your poster was on the wall of every teenaged girl across the whole country. That a huge swath of the female population discovered the wonders of masturbation to his photo. Frank admits that is high praise, indeed. However, now, is a different time. Now, he's mostly known as that guy from that church. Phil means no disrespect, it's a compliment in fact, but wonders why he's even interested in acting. He's sure that he'd make way more running the church than he ever could from doing an arc on Fuller House, and the church is tax-free. Frank comes clean. The church is Leslie's, and not that she isn't generous, but he needs his own thing. Phil questions that the chuch solely belongs to Leslie and questions who negotiated that deal. Frank informs him that it was her dad, conveniently right before he died. Phil reassures him that it was his celebrity influence that helped put the church on the map. Having effectively let Frank go, Phil encourages him to talk to Leslie for more share in the Church.

Tina sets the trophy back on Amy's dresser. Robert tells her she needs to fix this. Tina agrees and tells him that she's on it, but he doesn't mean the trophy. He questions if she knows what today is. Despite his questioning, of course she does. Tina rushes off to her office. Collecting her thoughts, she makes her decision. She removes the Staff of One from its case and activates it. As she makes her way back to Amy's room, Robert sits on the floor, gluing the trophy figurine back to the base. With the Staff in hand, she tells Robert that she needs him out of the room. Now, she commands. Robert doesn't look at her, his efforts focused on the trophy, and asks why. Tina has made it clear, no one is supposed to be in Amy's room. She believes that Nico's defiance made it clear that a verbal contract is not enough. She plans to seal it off with the Staff. Robert mocks her decision, that sealing it is the "rational" reaction. Tina gives him one more chance to get our of the room. He tells her that this is no way to deal with the situation. Content with her decision, the Staff lights up and a diamond-shaped pattern seal forms over the doorway - barring entry or exit from the room. Tina's gained Robert's attention, now. "Real mature" he tells her, but she admitts that she did warn him. Facing Tina, he knows that she misses Amy, he does too. He wonders why she can't just say it aloud. Every day, Nico pulls further away and if things don't change, they'll lose her, too. Tina contemplates his words and releases the seal, proposing that they can start with a padlock.

Dale and Stacey just dropped off Gert and Molly at Atlas Academy. Dale chews down a new flavored, cinnamon bran bar. As they sit at a cross walk, a vehicle behind them honks their horn. Dale can't proceed without mowing down a bunch of children. He swears, the greener the car, the bigger the A-hole driving it. Stacey tells him if you see someone driving a Nemo, just go in the other direction. Dale couldn't agree more, and moreso if you see the dude who created it. Stacey scolds him. Dale rhetoricall asks if the great Victor Stein is humanitarian of the year or something. Stacey tells him that he is - he's won it twice, actually. She advises him to be on his best behavior when he sees him tonight. Dale questions the significance of the night. She reminds him of the impending PRIDE meeting. Dale had completely forgotten. The vehicle behind them honks their horn again and decides to rush past them, too in a hurry. Dale proposes an alternative - she can go, without him, and cover for his absence. Stacey doesn't agree, she doesn't want to be the only one to listen to Tina Minoru insult her homemade brie, besides if anyone gets to ditch the meeting it's her. She spent the night in the basement with their experiment.

Meanwhile at PRIDE dig site with Geoffrey's construction crew, Darius Davis and his crew shows up. Several men get out of three cars, guns out, and stops construction. Darius tells Howard that today is his lucky day. He and his crew get to take the rest of the day off, they can get some beers and see the kids. He's the foreman now. Howard stand his ground, he tells Darius that this dig site is being bankrolled by some powerful people and they're not gonna like this. Darius tells him that is the point and that when he calls Geoffrey, tell him that "Darius Davis" says hello. Howard does as he's told to do. He immediately calls Geoffrey.

Geoffrey and Catherine are preparing for the night's PRIDE meeting. Geoffrey take the Abstract from a cabinent as Catherine takes a goblet. Geoffrey's phone rings and Howard explains the situation at the dig sit. He informs Howard that he'll handle it and not to call the cops. Catherine question him on what's goig on. He tells her that Darius has made himself at hom and trying to get his attention. She wants him to make Darius go away. Geoffrey reasons that if he pays him, he'll keep coming back for more. Catherine assumes he's trying to pull him back in, but it's too late for that and PRIDE can't find out. Nothing can jeopardize that construction site. Geoffrey will handle it.

At the Bus Depot, Destiny is about to board a bus but Leslie impedes her path. She questions if she's leaving, with no goodbye, not even a note. Destiny confides in her. She tells her that she in fact has a little girl and hands her a picture. Today is her birthday and she's three. She swore to herelf that she wouldn't miss another one. This news takes Leslie by surprise. She herself, once told Leslie that she didn't have anyone. At one point it was true, that she didn't have anyone after she ran. She couldn't take care of her, not like she had deserved. Destiny knows she's doing better now, and that she's ready. That is all thanks to Leslie. She thanks her for being honest with her. There was no better expression of her growth in the church than re-embracing her role as a mother. She asks if maybe she could wait a few days. She wanted it to be a surprise, but obviously she made it a little too surprising. Destiny's confused, but Leslie elaborates. She tells her that she's been praying on it and she believe that she's ready to move up in the church, to see more of the spectrum. Destiny's shocked. Leslie believes she's ready to go Ultra, tonight in fact. All of the plans have been made. All she has to do is come with her. A man calls out, Bus 45 is now boarding. Destiny's torn on what she should do. She questions Leslie if she really thinks that she's ready. Leslie does. Destiny makes her decision; she wants to go Ultra. Leslie leads Destiny to their church van. Frances opens the door and ushers them in, as Aura watches from the driver's seat.

At the construction site Darius chills as he blasts rap music. Geoffrey shows up as the sun sets. Darius is impressed to see him. He's looking sharp. He turns to his crew members, telling them it's an honor; once upon a time, Geoffrey once ran this town. Though with the complement, he's making Geoffrey feel old. They shake hands and has Andre check him for weapons. All he finds is his cell phone, though he can get that back when they're done. He doesn't want to make sure they're not recording their "negotiation". Darius informs him that when he builds a new school in his neighborhood, there's taxes to pay. Goeffrey hands him a silver briefcase. Darius hold it up and mocks that he doesn't hear any ticking. On the other hand, it also doesn't feel like 50 grand and pulls out his gun. He wants Geoffrey to open it and he does. It's a camera stream of a quaint house. He asks if he notices anything familiar. Geoffrey continues. If he's not mistaken, that is his Nana B's house. She made the best spicy chicken. It kept him alive for years. He gets more serious. If Darius keeps messing with him, that chicken recipe is goning to be all that's left of her. Darius cracks a smile. Here he's thought he'd gone soft. He reckons he still has got some rollin' 20s in him after all. "For life, cuz", he tells Darius. Now Geoffrey know that since he's moved on, he's the boss now. He gets that, but he warns him not to forget that he has what he has becasue he let him have it. If he wanted it back, he'll take it. Darius has another version of the story, the way he recalls it, he got to the top because of what he did for him. Darius is angry. All he does is take. Geoffrey doesn't have any respect, no honor, no memory of the people he left behind. Geoffrey get loud. He's building something great for this community. One of Darius' guys stand and makes a move towards Geofreey, though he waves him to stop. Darius corrects his previous statment, he's building something great for Geoffrey Wilder, just as he's always done. Geoffrey's finished. He want him gone, never coming back, otherwise, he will destroy his world. He looks to Andre and demands his phone back. He's got to tell his crew that break time is over. Darius picks up his gun and leaves. Back in the car, he asks Andre if got what he needed from his cell. The dat transfer is complete. He's copied the contents of Geoffrey's phone.

At the Dean Residence, Frank calls out to Leslie. She's mediating quitely in her home office. She's confused for the interuption, but Frank is here for some moral support. She appreciates it, but she's working. Frank tells her that she's always working and wants to help lighten her load. He tells her that he's ready to go all in, to devote myself entirely. He wants her to take him Ultra. But that entails much more. It requires devotion of body and soul. For too long, Frank has had one foot in and one foot out, and he believes that the church is too much for one person to run on their own. It drove her father into an early grave, and he doesn't want to see that happen to you. Leslie corrects his misguided attempt. Her father had testicular cancer, which won't be a problem for her. Frank attempts to reason with her. He knows in the past his acting has taken him away from his faith, but now, the only part that he wants to play is her partner, both in life and within the church. He wants to pray and takes her hand. She promptly remove her hand from his and questions about his agent stopping by. She wants to know what he had to say. Frank dismisses Phil, he wants to do something that matters. Leslie, however, can't have this conversation right now and turns to leaves. Frank stops her, questioning where she has to go that's more important than him. She tells him that she has her PRIDE meeting. Frank wants to join her, but the meetings are closed. Frank takes offense, believing that her billionaire buddies are more important than their marriage or the church. However, PRIDE legitimizes the church in the eyes of the city and what she does for PRIDE, she does for the church. Frank wants to know about where he stands. Leslie is excited that he's even toying with going Ultra, but they'll talk about it later. Frank is adamant that he's not toying. He's serious, but Leslie ignores him and leaves for her meeting.

At the Wilder Residence, Leslie speaks about Destiny. She tells them that she's a very strong candidate. They each look at her file, though Geoffrey has apparent reservations, which Victor questions. Geoffrey tells him that the less he know about the candidates, the better. Leslie reminds them that everyone signs off on this. They're all in this together. Victor wonders if he's getting cold feet, but for Geoffrey, it's more concerning to him that he isn't. Destiny is only seventeen years old. Tina pipes up, saying they're always the same age. But now they're the same age as their children. He wonders if that bothered anybody. For Dale, he's found denial to be a very effective coping mechanism. Catherine quitely asks Geoffrey what's gotten into him. Leslie tells them that these kids are living on borrowed time. When they come to her, they are addicts on the streets. The six months of safety and shelter that she gives them is more than they would have if left on their own. This is a gift. However, this is a cause that they know nothing about. Robert comments that it's not so different for them. Should everything goes as planned which, of course, it will then this is the last time any of us have to be here. With that, the discussion is over. Geoffrey open the secret passage way down to the inner chamber where the ceremony is held.

PRIDE makes their way down into the inner chamber, each member stripping and changing into their red robes. Everyone makes their way around the dematerialization box. Meanwhile at the church, a mysterious decrepit figure lies in an identical dematerialization box that closes in on itself. Leslie checks in on Destiny, telling her it's time. Victor prepares his dematerialization box. Robert stands with Tina as she uses the Staff of One to create a sound barrier within the inner chamber. Geoffrey asks Victor if he's test driving the box today. Victor answers, telling him that it purrs like a kitten, despite his erroneous tests early that morning. Dale and Stacy prepares an elixir for Destiny Leslie ushers Destiny into the inner chamber, but she's confused. She believed that the ceremony took place in the desert. Furthermore, she doesn't recognize any of the people and that they're not from the church. Leslie reassures her, that it's going to be okay. She promises. All of this is for her and everything is as it should be. Stacey hands her the goblet, indicating that it will purify herself. She takes a sip but immediately wants to reject the drink. Leslie tells her it will be okay and forces her to drink more before handing it back off to Stacey. The other members begin to crowd around her and disrobe her. Destiny begs for them not to do this, that she can't feel her arms and legs. Geoffrey picks her up and lays her within the dematerialization box. She wants to know about the light. She again pleads for them to stop. Geoffrey, filled with guilt, tell her that he's sorry and Destiny struggles to free herself. She pleads with Leslie. She's afraid. Tina doesn't watch. Leslie tries to reassure her that she doesn't have to be afraid, but her words are meaningless. Cathine takes charge, she tells Victor to do it. The dematerialization box closes and Victor tells them that she's gone. The room goes dark and solomn. A flash of light breaks through the darkness and the parents turn to see what caused the light.

Current Time

Alex has a plan. While the other run into the guest house, he runs to the power box, and flips the breakers. He reunites with them, but Geoffrey and Catherine figure it out. Chase thinks it was a dumb idea, but he was covering the flash. Wanted to make it seem like a circuit blew. Nico believe it was really smart. Despite that, Gert tells them that they can't just stand around here like something weird just happened. Karolina has an idea. Molly however, has passed out; she's asleep on the couch. Catherine and Geoffrey approach the guest house. She wants him to be cool. However when they enter, they find the kids playing twister. Alex asks how's the meeting going. However, they're more surprised that they showed up. They're wrapping up the meeting and Geoffrey asks if they're good. Chase tells them that, turns out, they missed each other more than they cared to admit. Molly adds that Nico just landed on green, so things are about to get a little freaky. Catherine lets them get back to their game and informs them that their parents are leaving soon, if they need rides. As they walk off, Catherine questions if he thought they saw anything. Geoffrey believes their good. Likewise, Karolina wonders if they bought it.

Back in the inner chamber, they inform the others that heir kids are here. They're in the guest house playing games like old times and didn't seem to have a clue. Again, just like old times. Catherine admits that it was nice to see. Geoffrey tells them that the breakers were all flipped. Something must have blown. Victor's box put on quite a show tonight. Though it seems like it did its job, Robert quetions what could have caused the surge. It's not like it's plugged into a wall. Janet offers that there is a lot of energy swirling around, but who knows. Whatever it was, Geoffrey doesn't think it had anything to do with the kids. Leslie's unusally quite. She admit this one was a hard one. Geoffrey agrees. Tina, however, is the first to want ot leave. If everyone is good, she has to be in the office early. She stores the Staff in her bag and walks out of the inner chamber. Geoffrey offers to help Victor, but he can pack up himself.

Back in the guest house the teenagers argue over what they just witnessed. Gert's sure that there's no way her parents would kill someone. Alex adds, especially an innocent girl. His parents fight for people like her. Karolina agrees, that her parents do as well and Destiny loves Leslie. She even asked for her number; she wanted to hang out and she can't be dead. Nico has an idea. How about they just march down there and ask them? She reasons that finding out her mom is evil would actually be the least surprising explanation. However, Gert points out all their parents were down there. They can't all be psycho, but Chase offers that exaplantion describes his dad pretty well. Gert is sure, Dale and Stacey may have their quirks, but their biggest character flaw is that they occasionally listen to Weird Al for pleasure. Alex wants to see the photo that Molly took, but it's too blurry and shows nothing.

At the Church of Gibborim executive office, Frank attempts to get into Leslie's private study. The door, however, is locked. He checks her calendar, but doesn't find what he's looking for.

As Victor packs up his dematerialization box, there's thumping on the door. He opens it and finds Destiny gasping, struggling to free herself. She pleads with him, but he tells her that she shouldn't be here. She begs him to help her. With all their kids here, they mingle amongst one another. Janet, Geoffrey, and Catherine talk to Molly. Gert speaks with Dale and Stacey. Tina and Nico talk to Karolina and Leslie. Robert and Alex talk as Chase makes his way over to Dale and Stacey. Before they leave, Chase, Karolina, Nico, Gert, Molly, and Alex meet up. Alex tells them that they need to maintain the status quo. If they start acting weird, they will notice. Nico comments that if she doesn't act weird, they'll notice. They just need to buy ourselves some time, because there's got to be a reasonable explanation for all this. Gert mocks him, bringing back up his time travel theory from before. Nico dismisses herself, she needs to use the bathroom.

Dale and Stacey are the first ot leave. Dale packs up his brie, asking if anyone wanted some. There a lot left over. "I wonder why," Tina, rhetorically asks, insinuating another insult. Stacey calls to Gert and Molly, asking them why don't they come with them. Alex reminds them to act normal. Gert immediately acts weird. She tells them "Sounds super! Thanks so much." Molly tells her that she's never sounded that happy in her entire life. Leslie calls out to Karolina, telling her it's late an everyone's had a long day. Before she leaves, she thanks Chase for everthing he's done for the night and gives her a hug. Janet comes over to Chase, telling him that his dad texted. He's outside in the Leapfrog, Nemo's new self-driving SUV. Chase turns to Alex and add that it has extra-large trunk space. Janet is already outside the door, but calls back to Chase, they can't leave him waiting. Tina turns to Alex, and questions where Nico is. She has a boardin meeting first thing in the morning and they need to leave. He tells her that she's freshening up in the bathroom and he'll tell her that they're waiting.

Alex knocks on the door. He tells her it's just him and lets himself in. They're starting to get suspicious. "I can't go home", she tells him. It was already bad enough living there, but now she know. Alex thinks he gets where she's coming from, but he doesn't. He can't. It's always been just him and his parents, but she used to have someone who'd take her side, listen to her. Now, she'll all alone. With them. Alex tells her that she's not alone. He promises. They finally emerge from the bathroom. She thanks Mr. and Mrs. Wilder and wishes them a great night.

With a seemingly successful night, Catherine comments how everything turned around after all. Geoffrey points out how he believes she saw sparks between Alex and Nico and offers if he ever needs any advice. Alex tells him he's good and tells him good night.

Back at the Church of Gibborim executive office, Frank attempts to enter Leslie's private office. The hand print scanner however prevents his access. The mysterious decrepit figure from before however remains in the dematerialization box. The ceremony had failed its objective. Vaughn finds Frank and explains that this area is off-limits. He explains that he just wanted to drop by and see Leslie. Vaughn tells him that is sweet of him, but she's not here, and he doesn't have access to her private meditation suite. He wants to check it out, see what she's done to the place. He admits it must be pretty nice, considering how much time she's been spending in there. He believes that if Leslie is allowed, then so is he. Vaughn, respectfully however, explains that he's not. Frank continues to push. He reminds him that when Leslie was considering promoting him, it was he who gave her the idea of a big thumbs up. Vaughn turn it back on him. It was because Frank knew how devoted he was to Leslie and her rules. Not getting anywhere, Frank follows Vaughn back down stairs.

At the Minoru Residence, Tina returns the Staff of One to its display case. Nico stands down the hall, watching her reflection in her office mirror. Tina hears her and backs off. She calls out to her, but she doesn't respond.

Over at the Yorkes Residence, Molly climbs into bed with Gert. She asks if she can sleep here for tonight. She reminds her that Alex told them they're not supposed to act weird. Molly is sure that Dale and Stacey won't know. She confides in Gert that something really weird is going on with her. Gert doesn't understand and believes it going on with all of them. Molly wants her to sing and she does. Nico sneaks into Amy's room and climbs into her sister's bed. Alex texts the group. He wants them to know that they're going to figure this out and wants to meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. Chase, unable to sleep boxes. Karolina sits by the pool, looking at her bracelet. She decides to text Destiny, asking if she's okay. Almost immediately she gets a reponse. Gert's singing carries through the house. The creature that Molly saw eariler hears her.

In Geoffrey's study, Catherine enters in her night gown. She's worried about him and wonders if everything went okay today with Darius. He assures her that they'll break ground on time. Nothing will knock that dig off schedule, especially him. That is great news to her. He explains to her that being down there with Darius, it made him realize just how far he has come from his old life in so many ways. She tells him it's a good thing. But what they did tonight, the zip code may have changed and he traded his old crew for some rich white folk. Killing is still killing. Catherine doesn't want him to think of it that way. He admits that it's not like he didn't understand the skill set he brought to the table. But Catherine reminds him that it's more than that. Real estate holdings, community relations ties to the mayor's office, the police. Despite his thoughts, today is done. They embrace in a tender kiss and she suggests they go to bed. As Geoffrey heads to the shelf, he steps on a small object. It's Molly's hair pin. More worrisome, it's in front of the secret passageway.
